For many years blister packaging has been considered the most cost effective way to display a consumer product on the retail shelf.  A blister package enhances the overall look of the product inside with a glossy and “satin” rigid exterior, while the blister card is utilized for graphics that help market the product and tell its story.  blister packaging can be designed with a hang hole in the blister card or with a “foot” at the base of the PVC blister which will allow the product to stand freely on a shelf.   Things to consider when selecting a packaging services partner include lead time/turnaround, capacity, type of blister equipment they run, heat seal tooling support, pack-out options (counter displays, etc) and supply chain management.  The best overall contract packaging services company is the one who has experience and who will source and procure all the raw packaging materials such as the printed blister card, thermoformed blister, corrugated shipper, labels and pallets.  Let the Blister Packaging professionals do what they do best so that you can stay focused on what you do best.  Assemblies Unlimited is your answer for best-in-class blister packaging along with any other packaging services you would need.

Many people think that fulfillment services refer to the drop shipping of finished goods to a final destination.  Others believe that fulfillment services include the labor component of a project such as hand assembly, labeling, repackaging or POP display assembly within a contract packaging environment, also known as “co packing”.  Finally, some people feel that fulfillment services simple describe a warehousing and distribution function such as “pick and pack”, EDI or online ordering capabilities.  Assemblies Unlimited provides every one of these fulfillment services and much more.  With multiple warehouse and distribution facilities across the United States we can provide complete 3PL (third party logistics) capabilities including a web interface function that allows you to access your inventory 24/7 while also allowing you to order online and drop ship your product directly to your customer.  The IT department could be the most strategic of all departments in a fulfillment services company as technology defines and shapes the fulfillment services business by keeping it trend forward.  Our information technology specialists will assist you in designing a tracking option on your web site that will follow all shipments made from our warehouse as if it is your company.  So when looking for the right 3PL, co packing partner or fulfillment services company, you want to consider all aspects including square footage, services, capabilities, number of docks, number of rack spaces, traditional customer base, turnaround, drop shipping capabilities and most importantly, the technology available to make you fulfillment services company the perfect partner.

When you consider outsourcing your next packaging project to a professional packaging services company there are many factors you need to evaluate.  Will the new co packing company be able to act as an extension of your company by adopting the culture of your existing manufacturing and co packing environment?  Also, can this new outsource solution handle more for you than just the tolling, or packaging services component of the project?  Can they manage your supply chain for you and incorporate cost effect procurement from your existing supplier base or alternatively source the packaging materials thru the packaging solutions company’s own proven supplier network?  Either way, by allowing your co packing specialist to also source and procure all the raw materials for a project you are freeing up valuable time and resources at your end to spend time on your core competencies.  Then you will know that you are building a partnership with a full turnkey specialist that provides total packaging solutions for not only the co packing or labor back-end, but also with packaging services and solutions that incorporate the front-end packaging materials as well.

Most product marketing and design companies outsource the final pack-out of their product to a full service contract packaging company.  Product packaging companies are often used to help manage some or all of the supply chain, including raw materials, labor and overall logistics.  However, few contract packaging companies offer end-to-end services from package design to drop shipping of the final product.  Assemblies Unlimited will manage your contract packaging project from start to finish making sure that value is added at each step with a guarantee that the final packaging will be done right and on-time.  In the long run, you will save money by allowing a seasoned contract packager to quarterback the packaging process starting with package design, prototyping, procurement, co packing, warehousing, logistics and final fulfillment of your product.  Good contract packaging companies include services like blister packaging, Clamshell RF sealing, skin packaging, pouching, powder filling, POP display assembly, shrink wrapping, food filling, cartoning, tube filling and many other packaging services.  Make sure your contract packaging partner has proven suppliers in their vendor network who can provide raw packaging materials such as printed flexible film, thermoforming, printed chipboard cartons, corrugated boxes, labels and stand up pouches.  The vendor network can complete the play but the quarterback, or contract packaging partner, will be accountable that the play runs smoothly and according to the game plan.  The best contract packaging solution will be the one who can do it all, and one who will ultimately win the game for you.

Powder filling can be done in pouches, in cartons, in sample pouches or in stand-up bags.  Powder filling can include a blend and fill process, blending only or pouch filling only.  Customers who depend on powder filling or contract packaging services prefer a full turnkey solution where the vendor will manage the packaging supply chain from start to finish.  This allows the customer to focus on R & D while the Dry powder filling company does the rest.  Outsourcing everything but the ingredients is more prevalent today as companies are rescaling their in-house efforts while looking for outside contract and Food packaging companies to package the final product.   Powder filling does not only mean primary food filling, but could also refer to all other dry powder filling including nutriceautical, dietary supplements, dry chemical filling, industrial grade powder filling as well as food service packaging.  Dual stage pouching is a great way to have both powder and capsules in the same pouch, and sift proof cartoning is a way to package dry powder in a box without any other packaging materials required.  Dry powder filling can be done at a very high speed as required by the volume and methods of each application.   For example, a stand up pouch with a zip lok may have a longer fill cycle to powder fill than a small sachet sample pouch.  Also, the final pack out of the packaged ingredients will be key in determining the turn-around time of the total project.  Sidekick, floor and POP displays are often used to promote a dry packaged good at the retail level.  It is always most efficient to have this secondary packaging of the product done in-line under the same roof as the primary powder filling.
